Eco-Friendly

image1326

Our vertically expanding Pop-Top tiny homes are eco-friendly:

All of our vertically expanding tiny homes are built out of eco-friendly materials:

  • Eco-Building Wall Panels
  • Double & Triple Pane Insulated Windows
  • Luxury Vinyl Flooring (LVF)
  • Rain Water Reclamation System
  • Solar Power System (optional)
  • No wood used in the construction of our shells

We use these materials because we strive to provide an environmentally-friendly option for our clients.

image1327

Eco-building Wall Panels:

  • do not contain CFCs or HCFCs in their manufacturing process, or in their materials.
  • are safe and incredibly environmentally-friendly, as they are either recyclable or are made from recycled content. Many competing panel products are not recyclable; instead, the waste is sent to landfills. The Eco-building wall panels we use are custom-made to order, so there is never any waste.
  • provide an R rating (thermal insulation rating) of R-17, or R-24 depending on insulation density.
  • provide an envelope that allows for zero air infiltration.
  • mold, mildew, and rot free.

image1328

Double & Triple Pane Insulated Windows:

  • Energy efficient windows use dual or triple pane glass (or glazing) to better insulate and help reduce energy usage in the winter and protect against heat build-up during the summer.  Triple glazing adds a third layer of glass that improves insulating properties, keeping homes in northern regions warmer and southern regions cooler.
  • Argon gas-filled air space. Argon gas, used between panes, is often an option offered by top window manufacturers. It enhances thermal performance without getting in the way of the view.
  • U-Factor is a measure of heat lost and indicates how well a window can withstand heat transfer. The lower the u-factor value, the higher the insulating performance of a building element.  U-factors on windows generally range from 0.25 to 1.25.
  • Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) measures the amount of solar radiation transmitted through a window, expressed as a number between 0 and 1. The lower the SHGC, the less solar heat the window transmits.

image1329

Luxury Vinyl Flooring (LVF):

  • LVF products are tested to the latest standards for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, phthalates, and heavy metals.
  • the standards used for the testing of phthalates and heavy metals in LVF are the same standards used for the testing of children’s toys, setting a very high bar.
  • Equally important is the fact that it is FloorScore® certified, thus ensuring it meets strict standards for indoor air quality.

image1330

Rain Water Reclamation and Filtration System:

  • 23.6 sq. in. per linear ft. open surface area. 77 GPM per ft. flow rate
  • Rated for Class B Loads (up to 175 psi) when properly installed
  • the 3" Channel Drain, as part of a complete channel drainage system, collects and conveys water to drain pipes for proper distribution of rainwater
  • removable grates make it easy to clean debris from channel for maintenance
  • 3" Channel made of polypropylene (PP) using a combination of virgin and recycled content treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading and cracking. Grates made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) using a combination of virgin and recycled content treated with UV inhibitors to prevent fading and cracking
  • Three (3) stage particulate filter
  • UV filter for microbes and pathogens

Solar Power System (optional):

Solar Panels:

  • six (6) on the 204 sf.
  • eight (8) on the 272 sf.
  • twelve (12) on the 408 sf.
  • sixteen (16) on the 544 sf.

Insulation shall not contain CFC’s or HCFC’s, or other expanding agents, resulting in zero ODP and

                    zero VOC production.

  • Interior/Exterior Face:

Interior/exterior insulated panels shall be clad with 26 gauge (0.455 mm) pre-painted G90 galvanized
